Graduate Student Intern
Alex is a graduate student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. He holds a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a Master’s in Theology and Leadership from Gonzaga University.
He served as a U.S. Army Combat Engineer officer, completing two overseas tours, before spending more than 26 years in full-time Christian ministry and pastoral leadership. His experience has included working extensively with individuals, couples, families, young adults, and ministry leaders.
Alex has a particular interest in working with couples, men, and adolescent boys, helping clients navigate concerns such as depression, anxiety, attachment issues, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and sexual issues. His counseling approach primarily draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), while integrating Christian faith at the level desired by the client. For the past year, Alex has focused on a marriage approach that combines Attachment Theory, EFT and Dialectic approaches to help couples find greater marital satisfaction.
