Purse Project

WOMENS PURSE PROJECT 2024The Riverbluff Women’s Ministry is partnering with a local SHE Leads group, which exists to support women in business development, in the PURSE PROJECT!

We will collect new and gently used purses and/or personal care and hygiene items to be given to women who are victims of domestic violence or areotherwise homeless. These purse care packages will be delivered to women’s shelters and residences by the SHE Leads members.

Donations will be accepted in the Ministry Center November 17 through December 8.

DONATE:

  • Donate a gently used purse that meets the guidelines below. It can be filled with items listed below, empty purses are also accepted.
  • Donate just filler items if you don’t have a purse. See items below that we accept for donations.

PURSE GUIDELINES:

  • Only gently used or new. No tears, no stains, no odor, no broken fasteners/zippers, no peeling leather/vinyl.
  • Purse needs to be large enough to fit in all the personal items in which we try to fill each purse. (See minimum list of personal items below.)
  • No tote bags without fasteners. All purses need to have fasteners to close the purse, so items do not fall out of the purses.
  • In an effort to be equitable, designer purses will not be given to homeless women. If designer purses are donated, we will use them for a silent auction to raise money for purse fillers.
