In the event of a significant disaster, Riverbluff Church will open our facility to distribute foods and emergency supplies to people in need.
Needs: Approximately 60 to 80 volunteers per day during recovery period
Riverbluff Church, in coordination with the City of North Charleston Emergency Management, Dorchester County Emergency Division, The Lowcountry Foodbank, Lowcountry C.A.R.E.S. and Charleston County Emergency Management, EMD train and work together to establish a neighborhood distribution and information points (NDIP). NDIPs open after a major disaster to distribute donated goods to those in need and provide the community with important disaster-related information. The Riverbluff Church NDIP was first established in 2015 and serves as a model for NDIP operation in the low country. The NDIP performs a test and training exercise annually.
The next test and food distribution will be on June 1, 2019
