At Riverbluff we teach that living things grow. Since we have been given a “do over” in Christ, we believe that we are supposed to change the way we live to be more like our leader, Jesus. Here’s the way the Bible describes it:
“God knew what he was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love Him along the same lines as the life of His Son. The Son stands first in the line of humanity He restored. We see the original and intended shape of our lives there in Him.”
Romans 8:29 The Message
The Biblical term for it is Christlikeness. We call it becoming a Fully Devoted Follower of Jesus: an FDFJ!
A Fully Devoted Follower of Jesus is not a perfect person but someone who has set the heart to be like Jesus, who is practicing the spiritual disciplines required to become more like Him, and is on the way to his/her destiny. Riverbluff offers many different contexts to become the Follower Jesus calls you to be!

We want others to think we have everything “under control.” The truth is, whatever you can’t talk about is already out of control in your life; problems with your finances, marriage, kids, thoughts, sexuality, secret habits, spending, or anything else. What are you pretending isn’t a problem in your life? What are you afraid to talk about? YOU ARE NOT ALONE — Celebrate Recovery is here to help you. If you are ready to take your first step toward freedom from your hurts, habits or hang-ups, come to Celebrate Recovery. The people there will not judge you, but give you unconditional love. For more information email CelebrateRecovery@riverbluff.org.
Fall 2017 Seasonal Classes
Here are the seasonal classes that we are offering for the Fall of 2017 beginning September 24th
Search for Significance
Class Length: Seven Weeks
Sundays at 5:00 pm in Room 104
Too often we experience thoughts like: When I fail at something, I feel lousy about myself… When other’s don’t approve of me, I can’t seem to get over it… or sometimes it feels like I’ll never measure up. We’ve been led to believe these lies and others when you have a relationship with Christ. Through Search for Significance we’ll explore the four false beliefs that keep us from experiencing our true identity in Christ and God’s plan for helping each of us claim His truths that free us from the guilt, shame, need for approval and meeting certain standards to feel good about ourselves.
Missing Pieces – Real Hope When Life Doesn’t Make Sense
Class Length: Seven Weeks
Sundays at 5:00 pm in Room 103
Does God care? Is He fair? Is He even there? Although you may know all the right answers, they don’t always feel right. Explore these and other questions in this realistic look at the messy, mysterious uncertainties of faith. God’s ways don’t always make sense, but He is trustworthy. Come close to Him. Trust Him more than your feelings. God will reveal Himself and fill in your missing pieces.
Men’s SOAP Group
Class Length: Five Weeks
Sundays at 5:00 pm in the Living Room
S.O.A.P. (Scripture; Observation; Application; Prayer) is one of the most popular and effective ways to study and journal the Bible. It’s very easy to learn, and will serve as a template to help you dig deeper into what God’s word has to say to you. This group will walk through specific scriptures each week using S.O.A.P. and then meet to discuss what they heard from God in their S.O.A.P. study and how they are going to apply it to their lives. The group will also provide support for each other as they learn from and apply God’s word to their lives.
