Most of the regular functions of Riverbluff Church are carried out by volunteers. In fact, without volunteers the huge majority of what we do would go undone. As a part of Riverbluff Church, you may serve God by serving others in the regular ministries of the church.
The best way to determine where to serve is by talking with the leader of that ministry and determining how you may help. Here is a partial list of ministries that require volunteers and the contact person for that ministry:
Baptism – Susan Thomas
The Baptism Ministry is an opportunity to share in the joy of believers baptism by assisting in
the candidate’s preparation for their baptism and encouraging them in their walk with Christ.
Billy Graham TVTM – Dennis Kight
The Billy Graham Television/ Telephone Ministry (TVTM) answers calls from those responding
to the Billy Graham Crusade telecasts. Our team members pray with callers regarding their
expressed needs. The majority of the calls are requests for salvation.
C.A.R.S. – Gary Weiss
The C.A.R.S. (Christian Auto Repairmen Serving) Ministry Team seeks to
reveal God through meeting the transportation needs of single mothers.
Celebrate Recovery –Doug Lester
Celebrate Recovery allows us to focus on the present and the future instead of past poor
choices that continue to affect our lives. Celebrate Recovery meets every Friday night.
Communications –Kim Blaton
The Communications ministry exists to honor God and communicate the vision,
values, and mission of Riverbluff Church efficiently, effectively, and creatively.
This ministry is responsible for the website, social media, video production,
brand management, and printing.
Connections – Cindy Schirle
Riverbluff Connections (group experiences engaging God’s people and God’s
word together) exist to develop Fully Devoted Followers of Jesus (FDFJ) by promoting
spiritual growth, community and accountability through Christ-centered relationships.
Counting – Vicki Altman
The counting team serves Riverbluff Church by processing the weekly tithes/offerings
given by our people. The members of this team are required to exercise confidentiality
and are scheduled on a rotating basis to serve on a specific day and time during office hours.
Disaster Relief – Guy Smith
The Disaster Relief Ministry is Christian love in action meeting the urgent physical and
spiritual needs of hurting humanity in crisis situations (natural disasters) with loving care
and a timely response.
Drama – Dean Infinger
Just as Jesus used stories and parables to communicate with his audience,
the Riverbluff Drama Ministry seeks to present biblical truths through drama.
Exploring Church Membership – Keith and Stacie Story

The Exploring Church Membership Team is responsible for meeting with new members of
Riverbluff to get to know them and find out how we can help them in their spiritual lives.
Facilities – Gary Weiss
Facilities ministry exists to support the overall work of Riverbluff Church and its many
ministries by maintaining attractive and user-friendly buildings and grounds.
Family – Terry Feil
Family Ministries of Riverbluff Church exists to build strong families
and marriages with the goal of Creating Christ-centered homes.
Hospitality – Kathy Jacobi
The Riverbluff Hospitality Team prepares church-provided food and beverages to guests
and members of Riverbluff Church from Sunday morning coffee Café to special dinners.
Men’s Ministry – David Blaton
The Men’s ministry is here to help every man at any time in his life to become a Fully
Devoted Follower of Jesus. We use small groups, classes, Bible studies, retreats, seminars,
conferences, trips, and other ways to help men connect, grow, serve, and share Jesus.
Lowcountry Cares Ministries – Wynette Miller
MPCM exists to help low income members of the community break the cycle of poverty by
teaching them to become self-sufficient. Our programs minister to their basic human needs
(food, clothing, financial crisis), educational needs (tutoring, pre-school, literacy, parenting),
and spiritual needs (church referral, pastoral and relationship counseling).
M.O.P.S. – Rebecca Wilson
M.O.P.S. (Mothers of Preschoolers) helps moms through relationships established in the context
of local groups that provide a caring atmosphere for today’s mother of young children. Riverbluff
Church hosts a MOPS meeting twice monthly on Monday mornings.
NDIP (Neighborhood Distribution and Information Point) – Don Stewart
In the event of a significant disaster, Riverbluff Church will provide a facility to
distribute foods and emergency supplies to the people in need. We will need
approximately 30 to 50 volunteers per day.
Office – Susan Thomas
The Office Team Ministry involves volunteers in special projects in order to
assist the church staff in meeting the various needs of the congregation.
Prayer – Mary Watkins
The Prayer Team exists to glorify God through intercessory prayer on behalf of
the pastors, staff, members and attendees of Riverbluff Church, their families
and friends, and any individuals, situations and circumstances as directed by
the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Production/Sound – Michael Peace
The Production Team provides sound and technological support for worship
services and other special events during the year.
Riverkidz (Pre-School & Children’s Ministry) – Michell Witman
Our RIVERKIDZ Ministry is designed to love children and preschoolers, to lead them
into a relationship with God, and to help them love God and others. There are many
different opportunities to serve in RiverKidz ministry, including AWANA, Check-in,
Music, Story time, Nursery, Teaching Bible study, VBS, and more. (Birth—grade 5)
Senior Adults – Tom & Carra McGuire
The Senior Adult Ministry provides fellowship, ministry opportunities,
and outreach for the JOY (Just Older Youth) Group.
Students (Youth) – Terry Feil
Our student ministry exists to communicate the love of Jesus Christ to non-believing
students, to connect them with other Christians, to help them grow in their faith, and
to challenge them to help change their world. We have a middle school ministry
(grades 6-8) and a high school ministry (grades 9-12).
Ushers – Terry Lambert
The Usher Team meets and greets those who enter the auditorium and assists
people with finding seats. They also give out the weekly bulletins and are
responsible for collecting the offering during the services.
Welcome – Scott & Kathy Coghill
The Welcome Team’s goal is to greet every member and guest that comes through
the door with a smile and a handshake. Also, we strive to identify guests so that we
can make them feel welcome as well as help them find classrooms and provide
general information on the church programs available for their family.
Women – Kim Blaton
The Harbor Women’s Ministry is here to help every woman at any time in her life to
become a Fully Devoted Follower of Jesus. We use small groups, classes, Bible studies,
conferences, seminars, retreats, trips, and other ways to help women connect, grow,
serve, and share Jesus.
Worship – Terry Feil
Our Music Ministry exists to lead people to worship God. We craft
the flow of the worship services, through music, media, and lighting.
Young Single Adults (Mosaic) –Dave Hardin
Mosaic is a ministry for young adults between the ages of 18 and 20-something.
It is a place for doubters, seekers, and believers to explore their faith.
